Everything You Need to Know about an Internship at NYIT’s LI News Tonight
What is NYIT’s LI News Tonight?
LI News Tonight is a 4 credit internship at the New York Institute of Technology’s Old Westbury campus.
It requires a minimal time commitment of one full day each week – Monday through Friday – but you could come in as many extra day as you’d like.
It also requires that you be here on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm during your first semester to learn the proper care and use of the equipment and the elements of writing, shooting camera and editing.



When is the best time to apply?
NYIT’s LI News Tonight offers three internship sessions a year.

* FALL - First week in September
* SPRING - Third week in January
* SUMMER - Third week in May

What if I’ve already graduated from college?
NYIT’s LI News Tonight is offered on both the undergraduate (COMM 364) and graduate (NEWS 650) levels.
So, even if you already have a degree, you can earn valuable credits toward an advanced degree while taking part in NYIT’s LI News Tonight.




Where is NYIT’s LI News Tonight located?
The internship is held on the Old Westbury, New York campus of the New York Institute of Technology. You’ll be interning in our newly renovated working newsroom in Education Hall room 104, where our nightly newscast and evening class take place.
